Hi, until recently we used an overhead projector in our church. Because we have several deaf churchmembers who appreciated to keep track with the hearing we pointed with a needle to the words that were sung at that moment.
Since we changed to a beamer with Easislides, we don't have that possibility anymore, much to the disappointment of our deaf brothers/sisters.
Has anybody come accross the same situation and found a solution for this? Is there a way to achieve this with Easislides?

Simple solution:

Find someone to operate the laserpointer of the remote control of the beamer.

Yep. Would be nice (and simple) indeed.
There's only one problem: the visual capabilities of one of them are so bad (dutch: kokerblind, latin: retinitis pigmentosa) that the laser point (very small spot) is not noticed.
So we're looking for other possibilities.

Greetz,
Ronald.

Ok,
consider a laptop for him, and attach it using netcasting.
If this guy (M/F) has a helper next to him/her, he/she can point the words directly on the screen.

Well, that would be a solution. For that we would need version 4.1.0 Beta isn't it? It's worth trying.

I still like the idea of having underlining follow the singing. But hardly any chance having that developed  Cool

Thanx for your help.

Cheers,
Ronald.

We have this problem too. Sometimes we have a special service for the deaf churchmembers.
Our solution is to prepare those services in powerpoint. But I understand that you would like to do this every service, so that is not going to work.

For normal use I love the fact that the mousepointer is never visible on the projection screen Smiley

That would be an idea as well  Smiley
If I'm not mistaking that would be a reasonable simple thing to program. A tick-box with description: "Mouse visible in Live Screen"

@WK: may I suggest this for the comming version?
And may I at the same time give you a big compliment and heartfelt appreciation for the work you have accomplished.
I've done considerable research, but haven't seen the functionality of ES anywhere else.

Ronald.

Agree. We found similar situations when we discuss with the pastor of a church for deaf.
In fact, Easislides can be a powerful tool and visual worship element for the deaf churchmembers.
Although they can't hear, their eyes are sensitive.
Use of proper Motion backgrounds could be their wonderful "musical" worship experience.
Therefore, dear WK, not only the "Mouse visible in Live Screen" function,
we suggest the color changes in lyrics characters after keyboard clicking (like Karaoke, from white to yellow color) as an extended function in future ES.
